Mirrors

In mirrors we imagine,
Imaginings amuse us.
Then the day comes
We are tired of mirrors
And mirrors are tired of us.
As they and we suddenly
Turn away from each other,
We mysteriously disappear.

İ.Galip Arcan (1894-1974). Aynalar. Translated from the Turkish.
