Photographs in Words 20 – Land’s End

First follow the direction of the setting sun, travelling as far as you can. You will see the whole sky and the whole sea turn crimson. .

Walk through the hills, walk through the valleys, through gorse and primroses. Go down to the shore. Climb the cliffs. Go uphill and down dale. But do not just pass by, unheeding.

For a while, rest on a bench dedicated to someone who loved this place. Look around. Subdued yet vibrant, pale yet iridescent, desolate yet full of life.

You are in Cornwall. The land where the sun enfolds the heavens and enfolds you. The Land’s end.
